Romarco Appoints Dr. Tommy Thompson to Technical Team

ROMARCO MINERALS INC. ("TSXV: R" - the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Tommy B. Thompson to the position of Chief Geologist on a consulting basis. Dr. Thompson will be responsible for assisting Romarco on its exploration programs at Hog Ranch and other projects to be acquired, and also for helping the company identify and acquire quality projects in North and South America. Dr. Thompson’s knowledge, significant research in ore deposits and experience in the mining industry will be a valuable contribution to the Company.
Dr. Thompson has had a long and distinguished career in both academia and as a geological consultant in the mining industry. Dr. Thompson has been a Consultant to more than 30 exploration and mining companies in the United States (including Alaska), Mexico, Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Perú, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. Notable clients include Newmont Mining Company, Homestake Mining Company, ASARCO Inc., FMC Gold Corporation, Phelps-Dodge Mining Company, Meridian Minerals (PT) and many others. Tommy has worked on world-class ore deposits in both North and South America, including Carlin-type gold deposits, volcanic-hosted bonanza gold/silver deposits, manto-style base- and precious-metal deposits, porphyry copper deposits, and porphyry- and stockwork-molybdenum deposits.
Dr. Thompson is currently Director of the Ralph J. Roberts Center for Research in Economic Geology, Mackay School of Mines, University of Nevada-Reno, and is also a Professor of Economic Geology in the Department of Geological Sciences, Mackay School of Mines. Tommy received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D in Geology at the University of New Mexico and has held various other positions in academia including: Associate Professor in the Geology Department, Oklahoma State University; Professor of Economic Geology, Department of Earth Resources, Colorado State University; and, since 1995, Professor Emeritus at Colorado State University. His publication list is extensive, including numerous technical publications co-authored with graduate students under his supervision.
