Romarco Appoints Edward van Ginkel to Board of Directors

ROMARCO MINERALS INC. (“TSXV: R” – the “Company”) is pleased to announce that it has appointed Mr. Edward Van Ginkel to the Board of Directors. Mr. Van Ginkel holds a law degree from the Osgoode Hall Law School in Canada and his career spans 22 years in the mining and metals industry, focused primarily on corporate development and exploration transactions and in financing and developing major mines in Canada and throughout the world.
More recently, Mr. Van Ginkel served as Vice President, General Counsel for Noranda Inc., where he had primary legal responsibility for the affairs of Canada’s largest mining and metallurgical company and, subsequently, as Vice President, International Projects in Noranda’s corporate development and exploration group, where he assumed senior responsibility for most of the company’s international transactions. Prior to that Mr. Van Ginkel worked for three years as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Dayton Mining Corporation and for twelve years with Rio Algom Limited.
During his career, Mr. Van Ginkel has been involved in virtually all of the significant acquisitions and dispositions of businesses, properties and mineral resources undertaken by the companies he has worked with, in every instance with senior legal responsibility for the transaction. Mr. Van Ginkel has also successfully negotiated investment condition and tax and currency stability agreements with many of the countries in which significant investments have been made. Mr. Van Ginkel has been responsible for the acquisition and legal aspect in the successful development, construction and project financing of nine operating mines, including four mines in South America, and most recently the Antamina mine in Peru, the largest mine construction project in history.

Mr. Van Ginkel replaces Mr. Joseph van Bastelaar on the Board of Directors.
As a director, Mr. Van Ginkel will be granted 150,000 options in the capital of the Company.
